Challenge

Design an end-to-end IoT monitoring system for retail shelves: real-time sensor data, a scalable backend, and business-ready dashboards, built from scratch as a senior capstone.

Approach

3 ESP32 nodes publish to MQTT, ingested into PostgreSQL (8-table schema, 4+ indexes). FastAPI exposes 30 REST endpoints and a WebSocket hub. Power BI displays 5+ live KPIs. Prophet forecasts restocking needs from 6 months of sensor data.

Impact

Sub-second WebSocket alerts, 6-month demand forecasts cutting restocking guesswork, 30 REST endpoints serving live KPI dashboards — end-to-end from sensor to BI report.

Data Quality & Validation Platform

3-layer ETL validation across 3–5 GASTAT government datasets: schema checks (Great Expectations), statistical profiling, ML anomaly detection (One-Class SVM, zero labelled examples). AWS ECS Fargate with Redis caching: 60%+ latency reduction. Arabic LLM reports with zero data leaving the government network.

Challenge

Validate data quality for Saudi government (GASTAT) datasets with no labelled anomalies and zero data permitted to leave the government network.

Approach

3-layer pipeline: schema checks via Great Expectations, statistical profiling for drift detection, and One-Class SVM for unsupervised anomaly scoring. Redis caches results. Arabic LLM reports generated on-premise via Ollama on AWS ECS Fargate.

Impact

60%+ latency reduction through Redis caching. Qualified as a GASTAT Hackathon finalist. Zero data exfiltration by design, meeting strict government compliance requirements.

Challenge

Build a safe autonomous navigation pipeline for a wheelchair that works in real airport environments, with no labelled training data for the specific venue.

Approach

Fused LiDAR and Intel RealSense depth data on NVIDIA Jetson Nano running ROS. Secured all communications with TLS 1.3 and AES-256. Field-tested at King Abdulaziz International Airport, Jeddah.

Impact

Ranked Top 15 of 500+ teams nationwide at AVITHON 2025, organized by GACA. Demonstrated a working prototype in a live airport environment.

Smart Adventure Tourism Platform

Cloud-native IoT ingestion pipeline for adventure tourism in Aseer: real-time sensor streams (GPS, weather, biometric) → AWS Lambda → S3 data lake → ML-powered safety alert engine with sub-minute trigger latency. Mobile-first interface for tourists and a live dashboard for regional authorities. Presented to government stakeholders at Aseer Tabtaker 2025, aligned with Saudi Vision 2030 tourism goals.

Bike Rental Booking & Events Platform · PWA

Full-stack PWA running a real bike-rental operation in Jeddah. Real-time queue management with Supabase (Postgres + live subscriptions + RLS), customer accounts with OAuth sign-in, invite-only community events with staff approval workflow, Apple Wallet passes, inventory and POS with cash/card split, refunds, and offline-resilient service worker. Trilingual (Arabic/English/Spanish).

Challenge

Build a production system for a real bike-rental operation: real-time queue updates across multiple staff devices, inventory management, and a full POS — all installable on mobile with offline resilience.

Approach

Supabase Postgres with live subscriptions replaces polling. A service worker enables PWA install and offline fallback. Staff and customer views are fully separate. Sales engine handles cash/card splits, per-receipt discounts, add-ons with photo uploads, and refunds with audit trail.

Impact

Live in production — replaced paper-based queuing for a real rental operation. Handles concurrent bookings across multiple staff devices with zero downtime, real-time inventory sync, and a full POS that works offline.
